What kind of information we collect
We collect data needed to be able to provide our services over the Internet.  This includes, but is not limited, to user information such as login names, IP addresses, and browser information.  We also log all requests made to our sites and services which means that if you are reading this from our site, we have recorded the date, time, IP address, and if you are logged in, the username attached to this particular access request.

Our primary product, School Pathways Personalized Learning Student Information System (PLSIS) contains information that is typically required by educational institutions and agencies, such as schools, to operate. These include, but are not limited to the following data for students, families, and staff:

  • Demographic information such as name, birthdate, gender, ethnicity.
  • Contact information such as phone number, physical and mailing address, email address.
  • Enrollment and employment records containing dates a person was affiliated with a school and related details like grade level and exit status.
  • Health information such as immunization status, allergies, and required medication.
  • Academic records such as classes, grades and test scores.
  • Other information that educational institutions or agencies have opted to store in PLSIS in custom fields and areas.

How we collect your information
Most of the data we collect is directly provided through submitted forms on our site and services.  Other types of data, mostly technical in nature, such as IP address, access times, browser type and versions are all automatically sent by your computer or mobile device as part of a normal web request.

How we use your data
The data we collect is strictly used within the purpose of providing a comprehensive and integrated information management solution to our client educational institutions and agencies.  They have full control over this data and they may add, change or delete them at any time and you can always ask your educational institution specific questions about how this data is used in and outside of our system.

How we protect your data
All of the data you send and receive from School Pathways is protected using modern security practices such as encryption and signed certificates.  This means that any information traveling over the Internet from you to our systems, and vice-versa, is protected from easily being read by a third party.  Once on our systems, we store your data on servers that use industry-standard controls for access which include additional layers of encryption, key-based authentication and hashing methods.  School Pathways adheres to security practices meant to safeguard your information from a breach resulting from both virtual and physical attacks.

Selecting to opt-out of data collection and information sharing
School Pathways does not sell your information to third parties.  Instead, on behalf of an educational institution, we may send user data to other systems to allow capabilities such as student services integration, online learning through a learning management system, and single sign on.  If required through a subpoena, court order or other legal process, we may disclose any personal information necessary to comply with the law.
